Job summary

La-Z-Boy Incorporated in the United States is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to plan, manage, and support activities related to production equipment, machinery, fixtures, gauges, and tooling. This role develops documentation for capital equipment acquisition and identifies new methods to improve the product and manufacturing process.

You will coordinate fabrication, discuss capabilities with management, design improvements, and help establish capital budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, 2–4 years manufacturing experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD and reading part, gauge, and machine drawings.
• Knowledge of NPV/ROI for capital acquisition and project justifications.
• Experience with PFMEA, control plans, and work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate fabrication and installation activities to ensure products meet engineering designs and customer specifications.
• Confer with management and staff on capabilities, schedules, and capital budgets for production processes.
• Develop models to test new processing methods and design improvements to increase productivity and reduce costs.
• Oversee design of gauges, fixtures, tooling, and material handling for ongoing operations.
