Job summary

Sonny's Enterprises, the world’s largest conveyorized car wash equipment manufacturer, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer II to design, analyze, and implement manufacturing systems. You will lead projects, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate across departments to ensure safe, efficient production.

The role requires a BS in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering, 3–5 years in manufacturing, and experience with lean methods and SAP ERP.

Qualifications

• BS Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering required.
• Project management experience required; certification (Lean, Six Sigma, PMP) preferred.
• 3-5 years work experience in a manufacturing / assembly environment.
• Experience with lean manufacturing including standard work, workstation design, 5S & visual management.
• Working knowledge of industrial manufacturing processes.
• Must have experience operating in a Quality Management System.
• Demonstrated project management effectiveness in manufacturing environments.
• Self-starting problem solver able to work under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, evaluation, and improvement of manufacturing methods, processes, and tools to support business objectives.
• Serve as a technical resource for production teams, providing troubleshooting support and implementing corrective actions for process or quality issues.
• Participate in new product development (NPD) activities including process definition, tool/gauge development, work instruction creation, and cost estimating.
• Support capital equipment projects including specification, vendor engagement, installation, and validation.
• Contribute to lean manufacturing initiatives by applying tools such as 5S, standard work, and process mapping to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Conduct process capability studies, root cause analyses, and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Develop, implement, maintain, and improve current manufacturing processes, including equipment, documentation, training, gages and tooling/fixtures, to optimize quality, productivity and cost performance.
• Collaborate with design engineering, supply chain, and quality to ensure manufacturability, cost effectiveness, and compliance with requirements.
