Job summary

Kingfisher Recruiting is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a hands-on, team-based role at a state-of-the-art production facility in the architectural wood door industry. You will report to the Automation Engineering Manager and tackle day-to-day process improvements on the factory floor.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree in mechanical/industrial/manufacturing engineering, 3+ years in a manufacturing engineering position in a custom assembly environment, and proven leadership.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering is required.
• 3+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in a custom assembly operation.
• Prior leadership experience is important since this is an independent role reporting to the Automation Engineering Manager at another plant.
• Strong self-starter with ability to work independently and in a team.
• Project management experience from start to finish is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills across all levels of staff.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for solving hands-on manufacturing problems to improve day-to-day performance.
• Collaborate with Production, Continuous Improvement, Maintenance and Engineering to meet KPIs.
• Develop practical solutions and ensure improvements are implemented and sustained.
• Maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor and work with operators, supervisors and leadership to resolve issues.
• Serve as escalation resource for issues requiring deeper process analysis.
• Coordinate design, development and validation of manufacturing processes and improvements.
• Improve processes and eliminate waste in key constraint areas and improve safety, quality, productivity and delivery.
• Develop and drive metrics with Production Teams.
