Job summary

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Materials Science Engineering, or other technical degree with relevant experience.
• Three to Five years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiar with engineering principles and equipment for tracking and implementing internal changes.
• Conduct necessary experimental work to verify concepts.
• Statistics, familiar with Six Sigma concepts. (Green Belt Preferred)
• Working knowledge of manufacturing, maintenance, and/or production engineering.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.

• Great organizational skills.
• The ability to explain design ideas and plans clearly.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate manufacturing processes and equipment focusing on Safety, Quality, Yield and Productivity.
• Identify delays in production and sources of waste; refine processes.
• Assist with equipment maintenance and ensure procedures followed.
• Analyze production data to meet Safety, Quality, Productivity/Throughput and Cost objectives; provide reports.
• Identify technology solutions to eliminate unnecessary steps and improve Safety, Quality, Productivity/Throughput, and Cost Reduction.
• Perform root-cause failure analysis and support 8D investigations and PFMEAs.
• Provide engineering direction to optimize yield improvement.
• Train staff on how to properly incorporate new technology and methods into current production standards.
• Write, maintain, and ensure SWIs are in place, followed and enforced.
• Construct the best measurement to gauge the performance of a process, with daily measures and trend charting of key pacer equipment.
• Work with department management to ensure planned changes are enforced.
