Job summary

AVL in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to bridge engineering and operations, oversee FAT/EQT tests, and improve the efficiency and quality of the product and production cycle.

You will interpret designs, support the assembly process, drive process improvements, and perform root-cause analysis with QA; CAD tools like AutoCAD and SolidWorks will be used to read drawings and implement ECRs.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in mechanical engineering/technology required.
  • Experience in mechanical assembly/production environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in calculations and documentation.
  • Electrical knowledge with CSA, UL, NEC familiarity.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the mechanical assembly process by interpreting designs and communicating solutions to shop floor.
  • Improve overall plant assembly efficiency, including testing and QA processes.
  • Collaborate with production leads to develop engineering solutions for production and design issues.
  • Assist in creating and implementing engineering change requests (ECR).
  • Contribute to improving product quality and consistency through process refinements.
  • Support cross-functional teams to ensure build process accuracy and protect budgets/timelines.
  • Assist in root-cause analysis with QA and implement corrective measures.
  • Work with Engineering and Operations to develop methods and tools for process improvement.
