Job summary

Sterling Engineering is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to enhance production operations through process development, optimization, and smart layout planning. You will work with engineering and production teams to ensure manufacturability, manage design changes, and drive efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates should have an engineering degree with CAD proficiency, strong analytical skills, and familiarity with automation and testing tools.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent technical experience.
• Experience levels vary from entry to senior: 0–3, 3–8, or 8–10+ years.
• Proficiency with CAD tools and interpreting technical drawings.
• Experience with testing tools such as oscilloscopes, harness testers, or logic analyzers is beneficial.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills; ability to diagnose and resolve production issues.
• Familiarity with automation tools, PLC programming, or robotics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design manufacturing processes that meet schedule, cost, and quality goals.
• Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods to enhance throughput and reduce waste.
• Analyze workflow, space utilization, and labor requirements to design efficient workstations and production layouts.
• Collaborate with production teams on product design and tooling needs to ensure manufacturability and process efficiency.
• Interface with customers to review product specifications, manage design changes, and respond to engineering requests.
• Estimate production times, staffing needs, and associated costs to support business planning and decision-making.
• Work closely with engineering, management, and production teams to align capabilities with production schedules and operational goals.
• Apply statistical methods to predict manufacturing requirements, analyze performance, and support process optimization.
