Job Description

As part of the SMT Engineering team, assume manufacturing process ownership for Surface Mount Technology at the New Braunfels site, including solder paste printing, microdispensing/underfill, electronic component placement, and inspection processes for new products. Initiate and lead manufacturing continuous improvement activities to meet and exceed goals for safety, quality, productivity, scrap reduction, and uptime.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting new and existing Surface Mount Technology equipment including installation, programming, service contracts, and qualifications
• Collaborating with internal teams to optimize product design and quality
• Managing multiple projects to meet departmental and corporate goals
• Developing and maintaining machine programs for new products
• Mentoring technicians to achieve team goals
• Generating reports for quality and performance evaluation
• Training operators and technicians on equipment operation and maintenance
• Supporting global teams and other facilities on projects and issues
• Monitoring hardware and software performance for improvements
• Interacting with design, production, and quality teams on process improvements

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• BS degree in Engineering
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Willingness to train others
• Excellent verbal and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently on work plans
• Proficiency with PCs

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We do not sponsor visas. Relocation is not available for this position.

Additional Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of relevant engineering experience
• Knowledge of SMT equipment preferred
• Understanding of FMEA's
