Job summary

McNally Industries seeks a Manufacturing Process Development Engineer to turn complex build requirements into efficient, repeatable production at our Grantsburg, WI facility.

You will refine machining methods, review tooling/fixturing designs, and lead lean improvements while coordinating cross-functional efforts and supplier activities. A strong background in manufacturing processes and ISO 9001 is essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline; 5–7+ years preferred.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and production methods.
• Experience with CAD/CAM workflows and production setup documentation.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems; DoD/government contracting exposure a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define and document detailed manufacturing methods for new and existing products.
• Design and select production tooling and custom fixturing.
• Lead quality planning, sampling plans, and techniques aligned to ISO 9001.
• Coordinate material planning and supplier activities to ensure on-time readiness.
• Act as project manager for initiatives and drive lean improvements.
• Ensure compliance with government contracting requirements and solicitations.

Day in the Life — Grantsburg, WIAs a Manufacturing Process Development Engineer at our state-of-the-art Grantsburg facility, you’ll turn complex build requirements into efficient, repeatable production. Your morning might start with refining a new machining method, move into a tooling/fixturing design review, and wrap with a Gemba walk to drive a lean improvement you proposed last week. You’ll operate with minimal supervision, regularly stepping into a project manager role to coordinate cross-functional efforts and supplier activities.What You’ll OwnDefine and document detailed manufacturing methods for new and existing products.Design and/or select production tooling and custom fixturing.Initiate quality planning, including sampling plans and techniques aligned to ISO 9001.Support estimating with process routings, cycle times, and cost drivers.Kick off and guide material planning activities to ensure on-time readiness.Oversee and control outside vendor processes to meet technical and schedule needs.Serve as Project Manager for assigned initiatives—plan, communicate, and deliver.Implement process improvements and champion lean initiatives across the value stream.Ensure compliance with applicable solicitations and contractual requirements, including government contracting expectations.Coach and train engineers, machinists, and other team members as needed.Jump in on other tasks that keep the business moving—proactively and independently.What You BringBS in Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience; typically 5–7+ years.Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes and production methods.Proficiency with CAD; experience with CAD/CAM workflows and machine setup documentation for production runs.Familiarity with sampling methodologies and quality planning tools.Experience with ISO 9001 quality systems; exposure to aerospace and/or DoD manufacturing preferred.Understanding of government contracting requirements and solicitations.Skilled in MS Office; strong organization, communication, and project management.Thrives in a team environment and collaborates effectively across functions.Tools & TechnologiesCAD: SolidWorksCAM: MastercamERP systemsBenefits & Work ScheduleMcNally Industries offers competitive wages and a full benefit package including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and accident insurance; 9 paid holidays; Vacation/PTO after 90 days; and a 401(k) with employer match up to 4%.
