Job summary

McNally Industries in Wisconsin is seeking a senior Manufacturing Engineer to develop detailed manufacturing methods and complex CNC programs for precision machined parts.

You will select tooling, support fixturing, conduct setup operations, and drive process improvements with lean initiatives while ensuring compliance with government contracting requirements; a strong team player is essential.

Qualifications

  • BS in Manufacturing Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5–7+ years experience in manufacturing engineering or equivalent.
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and tooling technologies.
  • Proficient with CAD/CAM; hands-on machining experience required.
  • Familiar with sampling plans and QA practices (ISO 9001/AS9100).
  • Understanding of Government contracting requirements; team player.

Responsibilities

  • Develops detailed manufacturing methods and complex CNC programs.
  • Selects tooling and designs or supports fixturing needs.
  • Performs critical setup operations and hands off processes to machinists.
  • Implements process improvements and supports lean initiatives.
  • Trains engineers and machinists; shares knowledge across the system.
  • Supports Quality Planning, estimating and process engineering.
  • Ensures compliance with solicitation and contractual requirements.
  • Performs other tasks to support the business.

Job description

**PURPOSE:**Develops computer numerically controlled programs for the manufacturing of complex precision machined parts. Facilitates the manufacturing process by disseminating contractual and TDP requirements into the business system and supports all technical requirements of contracted work.******ESSENTIAL DUTIES:**Develops detailed manufacturing methods and/or complex machining programs.Selects tooling and designs or supports fixturing needs.Performs critical setup operations and hands off qualified processes to machinists.Implements and/or initiates process improvements and supports lean initiatives.Helps train engineers, machinists and other employees as necessary. Shares expertise and knowledge across entire manufacturing system and acts as a focal point for advice on best programming and machining practices.Supports Quality Planning activities.Supports estimating activities.Supports aspects of process engineering.Ensure compliance with applicable solicitation and contractual requirements.Perform other tasks as requested or required to support the needs of the business.High degree of responsibility.Requires minimum level of supervision.******QUALIFICATIONS:**A Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field and/or equivalent experience is required. Typically, minimum experience: 5 to 7+ years.Possess extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, machining techniques and tooling technologies.Proficient with the use of CAD/CAM systems.Possess “Hands on” experience in a machining environment.Familiarity with sampling plans and techniques.Knowledge of major aerospace and/or DOD manufacturing preferred.Demonstrates proficiency with MS office software.Knowledge of Quality assurance practices and procedures, including ISO 9001 & AS9100 Quality Systems.Knowledge of Government contracting requirements.Ability to work well in a team environmentMcNally Industries offers competitive wages, a full benefit package, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and accident insurance, 9-paid holidays, Vacation/PTO after 90 days, as well as a 401K with employer match up to 4%.
