Job summary

Handsome Brook Farm seeks an experienced Controller to lead all accounting operations, close processes, and strengthen internal controls in our manufacturing environment. You will deliver GAAP-compliant statements, cost accounting insights, and actionable financial analysis to support operational decisions.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in manufacturing finance, proficiency with standard costing and ERP systems, and strong leadership to partner with operations, supply chain, and engineering

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience in manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing cost accounting and inventory accounting.
• Experience with standard costing, variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
• ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
• CPA, CMA, or MBA is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, payroll accounting, and financial reporting.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Prepare accurate financial statements and management reports in accordance with GAAP.
• Produce customized lender reporting and covenant ratio calculations.
• Coordinate annual audits and tax-related activities with external firms.
