THE WORK

Performs the Make, Buy and / or Bill of Material (BOM) planning activities associated with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) transactions.

Responsibilities Include

• Performs one or more multiple manufacturing activities within various manufacturing functions.
• Maintains production systems integrity to drive inventory optimization to minimize cost.
• Expedites and optimizes material flow through the supply chain to meet customer requirements.
• Coordinates with manufacturing and Operations Management to provide shop floor control on make parts, analyzes and controls production schedule and capacity requirements, executes the plan, provides timely status and expedites or works around plans to preserve schedule.
• Coordinates with Supply Chain Stakeholders including Procurement and Operations Management to determine appropriate time phased plan for procured parts and executes processes to ensure deliverables meet production schedule requirements.
• Maintains MRP parameters including lead times and lot sizes and coordinates with Engineering and Change Board Rep to make the associated changes to the BOM.

Basic Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s degree (or coursework) in Production Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related technical field – or comparable on‑the‑job training related to material and inventory management.
• Experience: 0‑1year of experience (or internship/co‑op) in production planning, shop‑floor support, scheduling, logistics, or a related manufacturing environment. Demonstrated interest through projects, coursework, or volunteer work is acceptable.
• ERP Exposure: Introductory familiarity with an ERP/MRP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) – basic navigation and data entry; formal certification not required.
• Analytical Ability: Comfort working with production data and inventory information; able to identify simple trends and report findings.
• Lean Awareness: Basic understanding of Lean or continuous‑improvement concepts (e.g., 5S, Kaizen) and willingness to learn how to apply them on the shop floor.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal skills for clear coordination with engineering, procurement, quality, and shop‑floor teams.
• Excel Skills: Proficient with Medium to Advanced Excel functions (sorting, filtering, formulas, pivot tables, vlookup, charts)
• Inventory Fundamentals: General knowledge of inventory control ideas such as safety stock, reorder points, and material traceability.
• Work Style: Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment.
• Team Orientation: Collaborative mindset; eager to work across functional groups to support production goals.
• Security/Eligibility: Must be a U.S.Citizen and able to obtain the required government security clearance.

Desired Skills

• Basic Data‑Visualization Exposure: Familiarity with at least one visualization tool (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, or Qlik) sufficient to create simple charts or dashboards; no expectation of real‑time production monitoring.
• ERP Workflow Understanding: General knowledge of how an ERP/MRP system processes orders and allocates material; able to follow established procedures rather than redesign workflows.
• Introductory SQL/Database Skills: Ability to write simple SELECT queries and basic joins to retrieve data from a single production database; advanced database design or complex data‑modeling not required.
• Elementary Automation: Experience with basic Excel formulas, simple pivot tables, and straightforward VBA macros or PowerAutomate flows to reduce repetitive manual steps; scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) are optional.
• Foundational Problem‑Solving: Use of basic root‑cause techniques such as the “5Whys” to identify issues; formal fault‑tree analysis or decision‑matrix frameworks are not required.
• Basic Continuous‑Improvement Participation: Involvement in Lean or Six‑Sigma activities (e.g., Kaizen events, Gemba walks) as a team member; leadership of improvement projects is not expected.
• Collaborative Digital Workspaces: Comfortable navigating Microsoft Teams/SharePoint or similar platforms for sharing documents and tracking tasks; advanced version‑control or Jira administration is not required.
• Clear Communication of Data: Ability to translate simple production metrics into brief, understandable summaries for supervisors or leads; no need to produce executive‑level strategic presentations.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $55700.00 - $103400.00

• For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
