Job summary

Gore is seeking a Manufacturing Technician for the Elk Mills 5 facility in Elkton, MD on the 3rd shift (11:00 PM – 7:30 AM). The role supports multiple manufacturing areas and requires lifting up to 35 pounds, overtime flexibility, and travel up to 5%.

Job description

We are looking for a Manufacturing Technician to join our Flexible High Performing Manufacturing team and work the 3rd Shift at our Elk Mills 5 facility. This role ensures that operational objectives and business needs are met by cross-training and providing support across multiple manufacturing areas and equipment as required. Standard hours will be 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday.

This position will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland.

Pay and Benefits:

• $ 19 - $37 per hour
• This role is eligible for an additional $2/hour shift differential pay for evening, night, and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate manufacturing equipment (including troubleshooting, accurate record keeping and data entry, and preventative maintenance).
• Utilizing quality systems, work instructions, and SOPs to consistently deliver products that meet customer requirements, both internal & external.
• Identifying and actively participating in continuous improvement efforts and lean manufacturing practices.
• Following and advocating all safety practices, including the use of personal protective equipment, and completing 100% of monthly and yearly safety training and completing and ensuring all area training documents are complete and up to date.
• Working independently and within a diverse team and contributing to a high performing manufacturing environment.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating manufacturing equipment.
• Demonstrated basic computer skills and ability to learn more advanced computer applications (i.e. manufacturing execution systems, enterprise resource planning systems) as well as good documentation and record keeping skills.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrate the ability to be motivated and a positive influence on team and teammates. Work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Be willing to adapt to changing business needs, with a willingness to work overtime, weekends, and alternate between shifts and areas if business needs.
• Must be able to lift 35 pounds as necessary, operate a powered industrial vehicle, and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to travel up to 5%.

Desired Qualifications

• High school education.
• Mechanical aptitude.
