Job summary

Randstad USA is seeking a hands-on assembler in Fremont, CA to construct server rack structures and perform precise alignment and hardware installation. The role requires a High School diploma and roughly three years in manufacturing with strong blueprint reading and hand-tool skills.

The position operates first shift, 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with pay ranging from $22 to $23 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

Component Fabrication & Assembly

• Assemble server rack structures—including EIA-310 19-inch rails, side panels, mesh/glass doors, top/bottom gland plates, and cable management channels—using hand tools, pneumatic torque drivers, and automated assembly equipment.
• Align sheet metal panels, mounting rails, and structural corner posts to tolerances
• Install precision hardware, including cage nuts, PEM fasteners, ground straps, hinges, latches, and electronic locks.

In-Process Quality Inspection & Verification

• Conduct dimensional checks using vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and squareness gauges.
• Verify vertical unit alignment (1U through 48U spacing) using specialized gauge blocks and rack-alignment jigs to ensure smooth IT equipment installation.
• Inspect powder-coat finishes for cosmetic defects (pinholes, runs, scratches, or uneven thickness using a dry film thickness gauge).

Machinery & Equipment Operation

• Operate torque-controlled assembly station tools, pop rivet guns, hardware insertion presses (Haeger/PEM), and automated rack-wrapping equipment.
• Load and monitor secondary fabrication machines (e.g., deburring machines, corner notchers, or sheet metal spot welders).
• Calibrate and zero measuring instruments daily prior to production runs.
