Amy’s Kitchen, Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator II (1st shift) in White City, OR. The role involves operating canning line machinery, setting up equipment, ensuring correct materials, and maintaining safety practices on the line.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Must have at least 6 months of Amy’s experience or demonstrated previous machine operator experience.
• Must have 6–12 months experience as a Machine Operator III or equivalent experience.
• Able to read complex instructions and complete complex forms.

Responsibilities

• Set up equipment at beginning of shift and during shift.
• Stock supplies and ensure correct supplies are used.
• Prime and test equipment as needed.
• Make changes to equipment and packaging as required.
• Effectively troubleshoot equipment.
• Perform minor Preventative Maintenance as required.
• Document operations by completing all required forms.
• Maintain canning line timing to minimize downtime.
• Operate machine safely and report problems to Supervisor/Lead.

SUMMARY

Operate machine(s) as defined in the Machine Operator Manualfollowing all safety procedures. Adjust machinery when operating and ensures machine adjustments or changes of materials is completed in a timely manner. The Operator must demonstrate a detailed understanding of the quality requirements for the product being produced and able to make adjustments as necessary to achieve maximum quality.These positions have a direct effect on the quality of our products.The Operator performs minor preventative maintenance (PMs) as necessaryevaluates upstream and downstream line dependencies and communicates changes to other operators or line personnel.This requires strong leadership and demonstrated skills to maintain upstream and downstream line equipment in harmony. Operatorevaluates throughput problems and bottlenecks and makes reasonable recommendations to solve the problem.Reports any problem with the equipment or supplies to their Supervisor, Shift Leador Team Leader. Troubleshoots equipment effectively, appropriately seeks assistance of a trainedMechanic andexplains equipment problems to the mechanic and ask questions if necessary.

Equipment typically operated by a Machine Operator II includes:

This role may be used as a training prerequisite for a higher level Machine Operator position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Machine operator is responsible for the following duties:

• Set up equipment at beginning of shiftand during shift
• Stock supplies and ensure correct supplies are used.
• Prime and test equipment as needed.
• Make changes to equipment and packaging as required.
• Effectively troubleshoot equipment.
• Performs minor Preventative Maintenance as required.
• When machine issues arise, call the mechanic and explain the problem.
• Document operations by completing all required forms.
• Make sure the product is sealed and has the correct code (if applicable).
• Change materials to avoid downtime andcanidentify sub-standard supplies.
• Maintain timing of the canning line so that backup is minimal.
• Correct any line jams that may occur.
• Operate machine in a safe manner.
• Communicate to Supervisor, Shift Leader or Team Leader any machine or process problems in a timely manner.
• Perform general housekeeping tasks as it relates to their respective area for the purpose of providing a clean and safe work environment.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION

o High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
