Job summary

TSG - The Sheridan Group in Minnesota is hiring a Manufacturing Operator for Bindery and Ancillary Machines. We will train you to set up, run and maintain high-speed paper sheeting equipment, with on-the-job instruction and room to grow in print production.

This full-time role offers a first shift from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, overtime opportunities, hands-on work with sewers, drills, and binding processes, and a collaborative team environment focused on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn hands-on tasks.
• Ability to read basic job instructions and measurements (decimals, sizes, etc.).
• Comfortable using basic hand tools and shop equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up, run and maintain small bindery equipment.
• Keep machines running smoothly by adjusting and monitoring quality.
• Work with a team to hit daily production goals.
• Inspect finished products for quality standards.
• Troubleshoot minor issues to keep production moving.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean workspace.

What You’ll Do

• Learn to set up, run and maintain small bindery equipment, including sewers, drills, shrink wrap, board cutter, box maker and mechanical binding.
• Keep machines running smoothly by making adjustments and monitoring quality.
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Troubleshoot minor issues and keep production moving.
• Follow safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized workspace.

What We’re Looking For

No bindery experience? No problem—we’ll train you.
We’re looking for people who:

• Are at least 18 years of age.
• Have a High School Diploma, or GED.
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools.
• Can read basic job instructions and measurements (decimals, sizes, etc.)
• Take pride in doing quality work
• Show up reliably and work well with a team.

It’s a plus if you have:

• Print, bindery, or finishing experience
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment

Physical & Work Environment

Work is performed in a factory environment with regular exposure to dust, dirt, noise, and the physical hazards of machinery, plus some exposure to fumes, oils, lubricants, and chemicals.

• Safety toe shoes and hearing protection required.
• On your feet for most of the shift
• Ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull 50lbs.
