Job summary

TSG - The Sheridan Group seeks a Manufacturing Operator to learn and operate bindery equipment, including sewers and cutters. No prior bindery experience is required as we provide training. Ideal candidates are mechanically inclined and team players who can follow instructions and maintain quality.

Work is on 1st shift, Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM, with overtime opportunities. Safety and reliable attendance are essential for a long-term career in print manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Must be mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools.
• Ability to read basic job instructions and measurements (decimals, sizes, etc.).
• No bindery experience is required; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Learn to set up, run and maintain small bindery equipment (sewers, drills, shrink wrap, board cutter, box maker, mechanical binding).
• Keep machines running smoothly by making adjustments and monitoring quality.
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals.
• Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards.
• Troubleshoot minor issues and keep production moving.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

What You’ll Do

• Learn to set up, run and maintain small bindery equipment, including sewers, drills, shrink wrap, board cutter, box maker and mechanical binding.
• Keep machines running smoothly by making adjustments and monitoring quality.
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals.

What We’re Looking For

No bindery experience? No problem—we’ll train you.
We’re looking for people who:

• Are at least 18 years of age.
• Have a High School Diploma, or GED.
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools.
• Can read basic job instructions and measurements (decimals, sizes, etc.)
• Take pride in doing quality work
• Show up reliably and work well with a team.

It’s a plus if you have:

• Print, bindery, or finishing experience
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment

Physical & Work Environment

Work is performed in a factory environment with regular exposure to dust, dirt, noise, and the physical hazards of machinery, plus some exposure to fumes, oils, lubricants, and chemicals.

• Safety toe shoes and hearing protection required.
• On your feet for most of the shift
• Ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull 50lbs.
