Job summary

TSG - The Sheridan Group in Minnesota is hiring a Manufacturing Operator for Bindery and Ancillary Machines. We'll train you for hands-on operation of high-speed paper equipment and binding processes on 1st shift (Mon–Fri, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM).

Full-time position with competitive pay and overtime opportunities. You will learn to set up and run bindery machinery, monitor quality, and work as part of a team to meet daily goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Mechanically inclined with basic tool experience.
• Able to read job instructions and measurements (decimals, sizes, etc.).
• Committed to quality and teamwork.
• Willing to learn and be trained on bindery equipment.

Responsibilities

• Learn to set up, run and maintain small bindery equipment such as sewers, drills, and binding devices.
• Keep machines running smoothly with adjustments and quality checks.
• Work with a team to meet daily production goals.
• Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards.
• Troubleshoot minor issues to keep production moving.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

What You’ll Do

• Learn to set up, run and maintain small bindery equipment, including sewers, drills, shrink wrap, board cutter, box maker and mechanical binding.
• Keep machines running smoothly by making adjustments and monitoring quality.
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Troubleshoot minor issues and keep production moving.
• Follow safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized workspace.

What We’re Looking For

No bindery experience? No problem—we’ll train you.
We’re looking for people who:

• Are at least 18 years of age.
• Have a High School Diploma, or GED.
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools.
• Can read basic job instructions and measurements (decimals, sizes, etc.)
• Take pride in doing quality work
• Show up reliably and work well with a team.

It’s a plus if you have:

• Print, bindery, or finishing experience
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment

Physical & Work Environment

Work is performed in a factory environment with regular exposure to dust, dirt, noise, and the physical hazards of machinery, plus some exposure to fumes, oils, lubricants, and chemicals.

• Safety toe shoes and hearing protection required.
• On your feet for most of the shift
• Ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull 50lbs.
