Job summary

Sonoco Products Company in Irving, TX is seeking a Production Manager to lead safety, quality, on-time delivery, and continuous improvement in a high-performance manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will manage staffing, budgets, training, and regulatory compliance, while driving lean initiatives and improving productivity to meet customer demands.

The role requires strong leadership, ability to mentor diverse teams, and a track record of teamwork with HR and operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience or equivalent.
• Associate degree or equivalent experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Proven safety leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of all employees; lead a comprehensive safety program to prevent injuries.
• Comply with all federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations (EPA, OSHA, etc.).
• Develop subordinates through education, training, and teamwork.
• Motivate, support and guide all employees.
• Coordinate production scheduling to meet customer demands, to manage overtime, to minimize inventory, and to reduce costs.
• Lead plant in continuous improvement initiatives, such as 5S with safety, 6 Sigma, Kaizen events, and lean manufacturing.
