Job summary

Tree Island Steel Ltd. is seeking an Operations Manager to lead daily production and safety programs at our San Bernardino facility. You will mentor the production team and coordinate across procurement, planning, and maintenance to meet safety, quality, and production targets.

The role requires 5–7 years in manufacturing with leadership experience, strong safety culture, and proficiency with manufacturing systems. A Lean/Six Sigma mindset is a plus; California regulatory knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

5-7 years of progressive manufacturing experience with leadership responsibility.
Strong knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Regulations.
Experience leading in a unionized manufacturing environment.
Lean manufacturing mindset; Six Sigma training is an asset.
Strong communication, interpersonal, planning, and time-management skills.
Proficiency in manufacturing systems; knowledge of QAD is an asset.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily production operations and align priorities across shifts.
Lead safety, quality, and cost targets; drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Monitor KPIs, analyze variance, and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with Planning, Customer Service, Sales, and Shipping for efficient order execution.
Oversee maintenance and equipment installation; manage budgets and capital projects.
Provide coaching and mentorship to Operations teams; conduct performance reviews.
