Job summary

Great Southern Wood Preserving—LA, Inc. seeks an experienced Manufacturing Operations Manager to lead the plant’s manufacturing division.

This role owns safety, staffing, scheduling, and output, reporting to the General Manager and coordinating across sales, production, maintenance, quality, and shipping. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in manufacturing operations with proven leadership of multi-shift teams, strong scheduling skills, and expertise in ERP/WMS and OSHA compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of manufacturing operations/plant management experience.
• Experience with production scheduling and forecasting tools.
• Experience with inventory management systems (ERP/WMS) and cycle counting.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and manufacturing compliance.
• Proven leadership managing multi-shift hourly workforces.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day manufacturing operations across all shifts, ensuring alignment with production and quality standards.
• Own plant safety programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA and company standards; lead safety training and investigations.
• Design and oversee onboarding and training programs for production staff; build cross-training plans.
• Monitor throughput, downtime, waste, and labor efficiency; drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Own reactive and proactive scheduling; coordinate with sales, procurement, and logistics to align output with demand.
