Manufacturing Operations Leader (3 Shifts)

Job summary

Maker's Pride is seeking an Operations Manager who will report to the Plant Manager and guide the production leadership team. You will liaise with internal customers to meet targets and ensure a safe, compliant, and efficient manufacturing environment across three shifts.

You will coach salaried and hourly staff, drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimize material flow, and develop future leaders while upholding company policies and food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years leadership experience in a large manufacturing facility.
• Experience in food, beverage or CPG is an asset.
• Knowledge of Employment Standards, OSHA, HACCP, and Food GMPs is beneficial.
• Strong team building and leadership skills
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, at all levels.
• Familiarity with Lean, theory of constraints, value stream mapping, root cause analysis, or Six Sigma.
• Commitment to safety/quality culture; JHSC certification is an asset
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite

Responsibilities

• Inspires and coaches leaders and hourly employees across 3 shifts.
• Direct the conversion of raw materials into finished product with minimal waste and labor costs.
• Champions new ideas and experiments to solve operational issues.
• Plan production operations, establish priorities and sequence manufacturing processes.
• Resolve employee complaints and coach or discipline per policy.
• Review production reports and minimize delays and expenses.
• Train and develop all employees and identify future leaders.
• Communicate expectations and changes to teams to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate across departments to achieve results.
• Develop leadership bench strength and make staffing decisions.
