Job summary

Everforth Apex is seeking an Engineering Technician for the Manufacturing Operations group in Foster City. You will define, fabricate, test, and integrate electromechanical systems, and manage the mechatronics lab to maximize reliability and performance.

You will setup and execute tests on electro-mechanical components, assist with data acquisition systems, and collaborate with electrical, powertrain, body, and chassis teams to meet project milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or technical degree in engineering/tech.
• 4–6 years in lab/automotive development.
• Fabrication experience with wiring harnesses and test fixtures.
• Soldering with thermocouples/PCBAs.
• Experience with bench test equipment (signal generators, power supplies, AC amplifiers).
• MS Office and basic Python scripting knowledge.

Manufacturing Operations - Engineering Technician

The Engineering Technician plays a vital role within the Electrical Integration team, ensuring that electrical, electronic, and mechatronic systems are properly defined, specified, manufactured, integrated, and thoroughly tested. This position involves the setup and execution of various tests on electro-mechanical components, sub-systems, and systems to maximize reliability and performance. The selected professional will manage the mechatronics lab environment, perform preventative maintenance, fabricate test setups, and collaborate closely with the responsible engineering leads.

Key Responsibilities

• Support cross-functional teams including electrical, powertrain, body, and chassis groups with technical engineering tasks
• Fabricate and assemble test fixtures and wiring harnesses to support testing activities
• Sustain the mechatronics lab by managing inventory, equipment check-in and check-out, logistics, safety walks, and lab organization
• Execute key test activities accurately, thoroughly, and according to established procedures
• Install test instrumentation on test articles in accordance with instrumentation diagrams
• Manufacture printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), solder electrical components, and build electrical circuits to support in-circuit and functional testing
• Perform troubleshooting and failure analysis on defective PCBAs or vehicle components utilizing standard bench test equipment
• Support automation engineers in building automated test equipment and developing new data acquisition systems
• Maintain workshop and lab spaces to a high professional level in terms of safety, efficiency, and cleanliness
• Plan and organize work independently to meet project milestones and deadlines

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree or technical degree in a relevant engineering or technology discipline.

Experience: Four to six years of experience working in a laboratory or automotive development environment.

Technical Skills: Proven mechanical fabrication experience with wiring harnesses and test fixtures. Strong soldering skills, including work with thermocouples or electronic components on PCBAs. Hands-on experience with electronic product rework and familiarity with standard bench test equipment such as signal generators, voltage supplies, and AC amplifiers. Proficiency with MS Office and basic familiarity with Python scripting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experienced Python user with the ability to write or modify scripts for testing automation
• Knowledge of PEAK Explorer, Vector CANalyzer, or other specialized programming languages and diagnostic tools
• Prior experience conducting safety and performance testing on high-voltage components
