Job summary

Reynolds American is seeking a Mechanical Specialist in Winston-Salem, NC to maintain high-speed tobacco manufacturing equipment and lead preventive maintenance. The role involves complex repairs, instrumenting machine health, and documenting work in SAP/CMMS, with safety and regulatory focus.

The ideal candidate has a 2-year degree or certification in industrial systems or a military equivalent, strong computer skills, and hands-on experience with manufacturing MES systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in tobacco manufacturing or related environments with mechanical/electrical capabilities.
• Computer skills including Microsoft systems.
• WorkKeys: Applied Math (Level 4), Workplace Documents (Level 5), Graphics Literacy (Level 4).
• Operate industrial vehicles and powered lifts.

Responsibilities

• Operates high-speed tobacco cigarette manufacturing equipment and handles loading materials up to 50 lbs, ensuring quality, output, waste control and regulatory compliance.
• Performs mechanical repairs and adjustments to maintain machine health and overall equipment effectiveness.
• Diagnose complex mechanical defects or breakdowns; perform corrective maintenance and update machine records in SAP/CMMS.
• Execute high-level preventive maintenance on multiple technologies following manuals and work instructions at scheduled intervals.
• Install and commission manufacturing and packaging equipment and perform complex interventions with guidance to other technicians.
