Material Coordinator
Location: Santa Clara, CA
Schedule: Day Shift | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite
Pay rate: $30-35/hr
Position Summary
The Material Coordinator is responsible for the safe receipt, handling, movement, storage, tracking, documentation, and shipment of materials across laboratory, warehouse, and operational environments. This role serves as a key liaison between engineering, lab operations, logistics, shipping/receiving, suppliers, and project teams to ensure material availability, inventory accuracy, regulatory compliance, and efficient workflow execution.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in material handling, inventory control, documentation management, and forklift operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, organize, and store incoming materials and equipment.
- Coordinate the movement of materials between laboratory, warehouse, and operational areas.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and material tracking systems.
- Ensure proper documentation of material transactions, shipments, and receipts.
- Prepare and process outbound shipments, including packaging and shipping documentation.
- Work closely with engineering, operations, logistics, suppliers, and project teams to support material requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate material shortages or discrepancies.
- Operate forklifts and other material‑handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Follow company policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to inventory management and material flow.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse and storage areas.
Qualifications
- Experience in material coordination, inventory control, warehouse operations, logistics, or a related field.
- Forklift operation experience and ability to safely handle materials and equipment.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Experience with inventory tracking systems and material management processes.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and inventory management systems preferred.
- Ability to lift and move materials as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting laboratory, engineering, manufacturing, or technical operations.
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures.
- Familiarity with inventory control best practices and process improvement initiatives.
