Job summary

  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and organizational abilities.
  • Proven ability to drive operational performance and team development.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Manufacturing Manager to lead daily manufacturing operations and drive operational excellence across the production organization.

This role oversees electrical assembly, mechanical assembly, manufacturing support functions, production schedule execution, workforce development, safety compliance, quality performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Manufacturing Manager provides leadership to supervisors, leads, and production personnel while ensuring customer commitments are achieved through efficient, safe, and high-quality manufacturing processes. This position is a key member of the Operations Leadership Team and supports strategic growth, operational scalability, and long-term organizational success.

What You'll Do
Manufacturing Leadership
  • Lead and oversee all manufacturing operations, including electrical assembly, mechanical assembly, and manufacturing support functions.
  • Establish departmental goals, priorities, and performance expectations.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and accountability for supervisors, leads, and production personnel.
  • Foster a culture focused on safety, quality, productivity, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure manufacturing resources are aligned with customer demand and production requirements.
Production Management & Operational Execution
  • Monitor daily production activities to ensure schedules, quality standards, and customer commitments are achieved.
  • Coordinate with Planning, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Warehouse teams to support production readiness.
  • Review production schedules and capacity plans to ensure efficient utilization of labor and resources.
  • Address production constraints and implement recovery plans when necessary.
  • Maintain visibility into production performance and operational risks.
Workforce Development & Employee Engagement
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and develop manufacturing personnel.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and coaching sessions.
  • Support succession planning and workforce development initiatives.
  • Promote employee engagement and professional growth opportunities.
  • Encourage cross-training and workforce flexibility across manufacturing operations.
Safety & Quality Leadership
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
  • Champion workplace safety programs and proactive risk-reduction efforts.
  • Partner with Quality teams to maintain compliance with applicable industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Lead investigations related to quality issues, safety incidents, and corrective actions.
  • Promote a culture of accountability and quality ownership throughout the organization.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage manufacturing key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Track productivity, labor utilization, schedule adherence, quality performance, and on-time delivery metrics.
  • Use ERP systems, Excel, and reporting tools to analyze performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve throughput, efficiency, quality, and cost performance.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Strategic Operations Support
  • Participate in operational planning, forecasting, and capacity management activities.
  • Support implementation of new technologies, equipment, and manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on growth initiatives and operational strategy.
  • Assist in budget planning and resource allocation decisions.
  • Drive organizational readiness for future business expansion.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing leadership or management experience.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical assembly operations.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday while supporting manufacturing, warehouse, and
  • inventory activities.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to lift bulky or awkwardly shaped items weighing up to 35 pounds from floor level or above shoulder height.
  • Ability to safely perform team lifts for items exceeding individual lifting limits or involving ergonomic challenges such as
  • uneven weight distribution or repetitive motion.
  • Ability to work effectively in varying environmental conditions, including heat and cold exposure.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in electrical equipment manufacturing.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement certification.
  • Experience managing large production teams.
  • Knowledge of KPI development and operational analytics.
  • Experience supporting ISO, UL, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
