Job summary

Vorteqcoil in Missouri is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to operate and maintain manufacturing equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, locate and repair faults, and support production uptime across complex machinery.

Starting at $28/hour with potential to reach $36/hour through experience. A $5,000 sign-on bonus, comprehensive benefits, and a 401(k) with company match accompany a full-time plant role.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in electrical engineering or related fields.
• Familiarity with electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
• Familiarity with electrical equipment and hand tools.
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Solid understanding of mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and plumbing.
• Welding and cutting skills preferred.
• Proficient in reading and writing.
• Troubleshoot motor and control systems.
• Perform routine maintenance on electrical wiring and systems.
• Adhere to all quality and safety codes.

Responsibilities

• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
• Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and using precision instruments.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes and tools.
• Inspects parts to determine dimensional changes with calipers and micrometers.
• Adjusts parts using hand tools, levels and straightedges.
• Controls downtime by monitoring preventive maintenance.
• Fabricates repair parts with machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
• Maintains inventories and orders equipment, parts and supplies.
• Presents maintenance information by answering questions and compiling reports.
• Keeps technical knowledge up-to-date by attending workshops and reading publications.
• Maintains team continuity by documenting actions and needs.
• Ensures a safe, clean working environment and complies with regulations.
• Contributes to team effort by achieving related results as needed.

Essential Responsibilities

• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance.
• requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Troubleshoot- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
• Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
• Controls downtime by conducting routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
• Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
• Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
• Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
• Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
• Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Experience / Education

• High School Diploma
• Prior field related experience
• Ability to pass required company tests; required to maintain and show proficiency during probationary training

• 12-hour days (24/7 operation) - after qualified
