Start with on-the-job training and carry PPE as required. The position emphasizes minimal downtime, meticulous documentation, and collaboration with engineering and production teams to improve equipment performance.

Qualifications

• Mechanically inclined with relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and understand schematics, blueprints, etc. to diagnose problems with manufacturing equipment.
• Good computer literacy with ability to enter work records in appropriate program.
• Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written, with multi-lingual strongly preferred.
• Ability to handle and resolve most issues in an efficient and effective manner.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize projects, planning skills, and a high attention to detail.
• Must possess a strong customer-centric attitude, high energy level and a strong sense of urgency.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines, including cleaning, oiling, lubricating, changing belts as necessary to ensure machines are in optimal working condition.
• Identify root cause of unexpected breakdowns of machines; repair quickly and efficiently to decrease downtime for machine.
• Record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts, ordering and installing replacement parts for machines as needed.
• Prepare reports documenting work performed.
• Maintain shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
• Coordinate with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.
• Collaborate with department heads regarding new products being added and modifications that will be required.
• Make necessary modifications and test runs; confer with product manager regarding test results and make alterations to machinery as required.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and implement or lead solution deployment.
