Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our 1st Shift Maintenance team at our Solon, OH facility. 1st shift hours are from 7:00am - 3:00pm, Monday - Friday.

Summary

To perform complex repairs, under minimal supervision, in order to maintain on-site machinery and mechanical equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Troubleshoots, performs complex repairs and sets up equipment for all filling, packaging, mixing and building areas.
2. Recognizes and diagnoses problems leading to the disassembling, replacing, and reassembling of any machine in the department.
3. Trains and guides junior mechanics and routinely inspects their work.
4. Sets up and performs changeovers, tests, and adjusts machines to ensure all controls are set properly.
5. Performs routine and preventative maintenance on all machines and facility equipment following maintenance schedule.
6. Performs complex electrical, plumbing, welding, and carpentry duties.
7. Operates machine tools and improvises in making fixtures and parts when necessary.
8. Interprets drawings and schematics to locate problem areas and identifies the best method for corrective action.
9. Uses a multimeter to troubleshoot both high-voltage systems and low-voltage controls.
10. Completes necessary paperwork related to daily activities and/or projects.
11. Initiates complex work orders and reports abnormal machine conditions to appropriate personnel.
12. Performs various other duties as necessary.

Pay Rate is $28 - $33 an hour depending on experience.

Qualifications/Work Environment

• High school diploma/GED and 3 - 5 years of technical trade experience in a similar role are required.
• Must have experience with controls (PLC, Air Logic), electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems as well as the ability to read and interpret machine assembly drawings and schematics.
• Must have the ability to troubleshoot I/O controls (24VDC, 120VAC) by using a multimeter to identify electrical/component issues.
• The position requires standing/walking nearly 100% of the shift, some lifting (50+ pounds), bending, climbing, and twisting motions, constituting approximately 35% of the shift.
• Previous experience with the operation of motorized equipment (tow motor, low lift) is highly desirable.
• Finger/hand dexterity is essential for grasping, pulling/pushing, and twisting duties.
• Environmental factors include working in heat/cold, around dust, chemicals, noise, and heights.
