Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Company Description: Our client, a leading nutraceutical pharmaceutical manufacturer, is seeking a skilled and innovative Production Maintenance Mechanic to play a key role in optimizing manufacturing processes and ensuring product quality.
Fulltime Monday - Friday 6am - 2:30pm
- Responds to service requests as needed, utilizing resources to effectively repair and ensure the safety and availability of the company systems and equipment.
- Performs the job functions in compliance with safety, health, environmental, and governmental regulations.
- Supports Production with machine setups as needed to accomplish daily goals.
- Ensures the plant is clean and free of debris or clutter.
- Operates, adjusts, and performs maintenance on packaging equipment, such as tablet counters, conveyors, printers, cartoners, and other equipment to ensure compliance with established guidelines and procedures.
- Performs record-keeping functions (CMMS), documenting maintenance work performed and recording unusual operating conditions.
- Performs various tests on mechanical and electrical equipment (Amperage, Volts, resistance).
- Contributes to the department's efficiency by offering suggestions and participating as an active team member to accomplish goals and objectives.
- Understands and learns SOPs, GMP, safety guidelines, and completes all required documentation.
- Evaluates equipment and machine operations, removing and repairing various equipment and components.
- Supports the installation of new equipment.
- Repairs hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies.
- Performs other duties as required or directed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree, trade school certificate, or military technical training is a plus. Equivalent work experience may substitute for technical/vocational training.
- College or formal technical school education with demonstrated aptitude and skills in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and welding techniques. One to two years in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in the maintenance industry, preferably in a GMP environment.
- Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Must have legible handwriting and the ability to perform accurate documentation.
- Must have good basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Strong organizational skills, capable of following instructions and multitasking.
- Familiarity with safety protocols associated with lockout/tagout procedures.
- Ability to work independently and set priorities.
- Proficient with computer systems.
