Cliff Berry Inc. is seeking an experienced self-starter Medium/Heavy Duty Diesel Technician - Second Shift for our Fort Lauderdale Facility. The Medium/Heavy Duty Diesel Technician performs maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on cars, trucks, and off-road equipment in a safe, efficient, quality-minded, and customer-focused manner.

Second Shift Schedule: Monday through Friday - 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety are the top priority by following policies, processes, and acting safely at all times.
• Maintain organization in shop procedures and paperwork.
• Diagnose issues and collaborate with team members to devise repair strategies.
• Exhibit good communication skills.
• Maintain a positive attitude and work collaboratively with others.
• Demonstrate good problem-solving skills.
• Assist in training and developing others as needed.
• Own and maintain your own tools.

Qualifications

• ASE and manufacturer certifications are a plus, especially in areas such as Caterpillar, Cummins, MX, Eaton/Meritor, Electrical Systems, Brakes, Clutches, and Air Conditioning.
• Proficient in minor and major repairs on medium and heavy-duty trucks.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience.
• Experience with large fleet and dealership environments.
• Experience with electronic diagnostic software is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• CDL Class A license is a plus.
• High School diploma or GED from a certified program.

Physical Demands

• Frequent standing, sitting, stooping, or walking in the performance of duties.
• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for at least 4 hours during work.
• Must pass vision, hearing, and respiratory function tests.
• Ability to respond to voice commands.
• Ability to lift 10-20 pounds regularly.
• Ability to lift 50-100 pounds.

Cliff Berry’s fleet includes various equipment: cars, trucks (gas and diesel), trailers, and construction equipment.

Must comply with all safety and environmental regulations at the company, federal, state, and local levels.
