GEE Group is seeking an early-career Engineer for a Manufacturing Leadership Development Associate role in Ohio. This structured program combines hands-on plant exposure, cross-functional training, and progressive leadership responsibility to develop future operations leaders.

You will rotate across key plant functions, receive mentorship from manufacturing professionals, and participate in projects that enhance safety, quality, and productivity while advancing your leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations management, business, manufacturing, or a related discipline.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to work directly within a plant environment and learn production processes firsthand.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily production activities to help achieve output, quality, efficiency, and safety goals.
  • Observe processes, identify potential problems, and communicate concerns to leadership.
  • Assist with production priorities, labor coordination, scheduling, and workflow.
  • Develop knowledge of plant procedures and performance expectations.
  • Track measures such as equipment effectiveness, production output, scrap, downtime, and throughput.
  • Coordinate daily assignments and reinforce production priorities with employees.
  • Support frontline leaders with shift communication, workflow management, and team problem-solving.
  • Provide backup coverage for supervisors as experience grows.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new employees.
  • Participate in Lean, Six Sigma, and other process-improvement efforts.
  • Investigate operational problems and develop practical solutions.
