Job summary

Atkore seeks a Manufacturing Lead for our Pendleton, Oregon plant to operate, set up, troubleshoot and optimize equipment during the production process. You will report to the Production Supervisor and lead floor activities across shifts.

The role demands a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience with production data in JDE. This is a full-time, on-site position with competitive benefits and a shift differential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Able to work 12-hour shifts.
• PPE: safety glasses, ear plugs, steel-toe shoes, gloves, high visibility vest.
• Strong attention to reading/evaluating documents.
• Experience with material handlers and operators.
• Able to read and use measurement tools.
• Math knowledge and MS Office skills.
• Previous manufacturing experience with mechanical aptitude.
• Previous machine operating experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up machines for production runs, including adjustments and changeovers.
• Report and verify production totals in JDE, record data and assist with shift reports.
• Serve as a manufacturing technical expert for identified processes.
• Responsible for floor operations and escalate issues to leadership.
• Monitor machine performance and product quality, troubleshoot with support groups.
• Perform minor preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Monitor shift goals on hour-by-hour boards and track progress.
• Provide mentoring to Machine Operator levels I–III.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Manufacturing Lead - 6pm to 6am Sun, Mon, Tues, and every other Wed

Who we are looking for

We are currently searching for a Manufacturing Lead to be based out of our Pendleton, Oregon Plant. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this person's primary focus will be to operate, set up troubleshoot and optimize equipment during the production process.

What you’ll do:

Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Ability to safely and efficiently set up machines for production runs, including adjustments and changeovers.
• Reporting and verifying production totals entered in JDE system, recording production data and assisting with preparing shift reports.
• Serve as a manufacturing technical expert for identified manufacturing processes.
• Responsible for floor operations and escalating issues to department leadership.
• Continuously monitor machine performance and product quality during shift, anticipate problems, and trouble-shoot processes and equipment with the assistance of other support groups.
• Performs minor preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Monitors the shifts goals and measures of success on hour x hour boards, actively tracking progress toward goal attainment.
• Provide mentoring to Machine Operator levels I, II and III.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

What you’ll bring:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• Required to focus on reading/evaluating documents and is expected to have great attention to detail.
• Experienced with all tasks and duties of Material Handlers and Operators.
• Able to read and use different measurement tools.
• Math knowledge and MS Office skills.
• Previous manufacturing experience with a strong mechanical aptitude.
• Previous machine operating experience preferred.

Within 3 months, you’ll:

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $28.00/hr. + $1.00 an hour Shift Differential . Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
