Job summary

Atkore International is hiring a Manufacturing Supervisor for the Hobart, IN area. The role reports to the Value Stream Manager and focuses on supervising staff with emphasis on teamwork, safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

The ideal candidate has 5 years of supervisory experience and lean manufacturing exposure. The position expects leadership in safety, process improvements, and adherence to Atkore core values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Operations Management or Engineering strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of previous supervisory experience in manufacturing.
• Experience in steel manufacturing strongly preferred.
• Technical background in maintenance, industrial or manufacturing engineering required.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Lean Management experience a plus.
• AS400 and/or JDE experience a plus.
• Basic computer skills to include understanding of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Audits product and processes to ensure conformance to specifications and directs set-up and adjustments of machines.
• Assures compliance of company policies and safety regulations with employees.
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures or schedules to meet customer's requirements.
• Implements changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiencies of shop, department, and work crew.
• Partner with Safety and/or HR to investigate, resolve and provide corrective measures for accidents, injuries, production, and personnel issues.
• Maintain consistent and fair labor relations with employees.
• Ensure that the team honors our Atkore core values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect, and Excellence in all aspects of their daily work.

Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for a Manufacturing Supervisor to be based out of Hobart, IN. • Gain an understanding of the current training materials and procedures your team owns.
• Partner with the Value Stream Manager and Engineering to start identifying short- and long-term process improvement ideas.
• Identify ways to strengthen the team's commitment to Atkore's core values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect and Excellence.

Within 12 months, you'll:

• Create, update, and share training materials and documentation.
• Have meaningful performance conversations with team and operators in area's supported.
• Be able to resolve any issues quickly and safely.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $71,120 - $97,790. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
