Job summary

CJ Schwan's is seeking a Labor Scheduler to optimize staffing for our Sioux Falls day shift. You will coordinate with plant departments, build schedules, monitor exceptions, and ensure alignment with production plans to meet operational goals.

With 3–5 years in labor scheduling and Kronos experience, you will manage data accuracy, communicate staffing changes, and drive continuous improvements in workforce planning while upholding our safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, HR, Operations or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in labor scheduling, workforce planning, or manufacturing operations.
• Experience with workforce management systems; Kronos knowledge preferred.
• Strong data entry and database management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with plant departments to optimize labor utilization.
• Develop and adjust employee schedules based on needs.
• Monitor scheduling exceptions and weather disruptions.
• Communicate staffing changes to supervisors and staff.
• Align labor with production plans with Production Scheduling.
• Lead weekly labor scheduling meetings with supervisors.
• Maintain accurate workforce data in Kronos and other systems.
• Track attendance, vacation, and call-in data.
• Report scheduling metrics and recommendations to the Labor Scheduling Manager.
• Collaborate with HR and staffing agencies to keep records current.
• Promote a safe, compliant, and professional work environment.
