Job summary

Corning Inc. in Wilmington, NC is seeking a skilled IT professional to support and develop computer systems used in optical fiber manufacturing. You will work with engineers, production staff, and managers to ensure reliable operation of automated controls, participate in process improvements, and assist in capital projects.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science and 3–5 years in a technical role. Travel 0–20% may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist team of engineers to provide production support and troubleshooting for 24/7 manufacturing operation.
• Support process and product optimization/improvement efforts.
• Provide training for engineers and/or production associates as needed for new processes, equipment, or control systems.
• Participate in capital projects.
• Some after hour, on-call support may be needed.
