Job summary

Corning is seeking an experienced engineer to manage, modify, and develop computer systems used to manufacture optical fiber. You will lead projects to meet plant objectives, support cost reduction, and participate in capacity expansion efforts.

The role requires 5+ years in a technical field and programming knowledge in VB, .NET, C, and real-time systems. Some after-hours on-call support is expected, with competitive compensation in a full-time role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science; or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in technical role or relevant experience.
• Knowledge in computer and PLC programming skills such as: VB, .net, C, Realtime systems or similar

Responsibilities

• Assist team of engineers to provide production support and troubleshooting for 24/7 manufacturing operations.
• Work with production associates, technicians, and engineers to ensure reliable equipment operation via automated control systems and user interfaces.
• Support process and product optimization/improvement efforts.
• Provide training for engineers and/or production associates as needed for new processes, equipment, or control systems.
• Participate in capital projects.
• Some after hours, on-call support will be needed.
