Job summary

Corning is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to design, develop, program, implement, and optimize control systems for our fiber optic cable production lines. You will lead advanced automation projects, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate across cross-functional teams to improve safety, reliability, and efficiency.

The role requires strong PLC/HMI/SCADA expertise, AutoCAD Electrical proficiency, and a practical understanding of electrical drawings and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 4+ years manufacturing experience with PLCs/HMI/SCADA in a plant environment.
• Strong electrical design and control systems knowledge including AutoCAD Electrical and electrical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of robust automation and process control systems.
• Mentor junior controls engineers.
• Support project execution from design to commissioning and tech transfer.
