Job summary

Universal Molding Company in Mishawaka, IN is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to manage materials, WIP and finished goods to support production and prevent shortages.

You will work with purchasing and warehouse teams, analyze usage, perform cycle counts, and ensure ERP accuracy. Requires a Bachelor’s in a related field and 2+ years of manufacturing inventory experience; strong Excel and ERP skills are essential. Attention to detail and adaptability are critical.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
• 2+ years inventory planning, production planning, or supply chain in manufacturing.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) or similar.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to analyze large data sets.
• Understanding of BOMs and production workflows.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory levels for raw materials, components, and finished goods to support production schedules.
• Analyze production plans, forecasts, and historical usage to determine material requirements.
• Coordinate with purchasing and suppliers for timely material delivery.
• Monitor inventory transactions and ensure ERP accuracy.
• Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies and perform cycle counts.
• Track slow-moving, obsolete, or excess inventory and propose corrective actions.
• Collaborate with production to adjust inventory based on demand or changes in production needs.
• Support scheduling and planning to align material availability with timelines.
• Generate and review inventory reports (stock levels, shortages, usage trends).
• Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.
