Job summary

AM General LLC in Mishawaka, IN is seeking a Material Planner to help ensure uninterrupted production by tracking materials, communicating shortages, and coordinating with suppliers and internal teams.

You will review forecasts, manage vendor releases, resolve receiving discrepancies, and support accounts payable while maintaining inventory integrity. A 1–3 year background in materials or supply chain, and proficiency in Excel (and SAP preferred), are desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred, not required.
• 1–3 years general experience in this field.
• Strong organizational skills and Excel proficiency.
• High initiative and ability to work independently.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• SAP experience preferred with multitasking ability.

Responsibilities

• Research and track material shortages and communicate with involved departments.
• Review future production forecasts and ensure materials are ordered correctly.
• Contact vendors daily via email/phone for timely shipments and releases.
• Assist in inventory control and resolve receiving discrepancies.
• Timely disposition of defective materials.
• Coordinate SPC/SRC activities with AMG teams and suppliers.
