Job summary

Fastenal Co. is seeking a full-time Manufacturing Inventory Analyst for our Wallingford, CT facility. You will collaborate with operations, manufacturing, sales, sourcing and purchasing teams to ensure inventory availability and optimize costs for customers.

You will analyze data to improve inventory management, forecasting, and production planning, with a potential flexible schedule after onboarding and performance goals.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of manufacturing work experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Highly motivated and self directed with the ability to motivate others.
• Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities.
• Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency.
• Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills.
• Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
• Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 75lbs
• Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
• Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)

Responsibilities

• Ensuring incoming and outgoing inventory meet lead time expectations
• Collaborating with other teams to ensure inventory is available and accurately priced
• Overseeing forecasting, costing and scheduling in an effort for continuous improvement
• Analyzing data to effectively meet customer demand through capital investments
• Developing a complete product portfolio for Fastenal
• Managing necessary data to create, update and continually drive to improve production planning process
• Contributing technical and business expertise to improve and enhance the inventory management system to optimize customer order fulfillment
