Job summary

DIS-TRAN Steel in Ruston, LA, is seeking an MI Solutions Specialist I to support design, development, testing, deployment and adoption of Manufacturing Intelligence solutions. The role translates requirements into working system components, configures MI apps, builds dashboards, and supports deployment and adoption.

You will work under guidance from senior specialists, collaborating with stakeholders and technical teams to improve operational visibility and decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a related field.
• 0–3 years of experience in Manufacturing Intelligence, SCADA, MES, software development, data systems, or related area.
• Exposure to SQL, scripting, databases, dashboards, or reporting tools.
• Foundational understanding of SQL, databases, and basic data structures.
• Basic understanding of industrial systems including PLCs, SCADA platforms, and MES.
• Ability to configure and support MI applications under guidance.
• Ability to follow approved functional requirements, designs and standards.
• Ability to execute and document testing.
• Developing ability to troubleshoot integrations and deployments.
• Developing ability to create process maps and technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Participate in discovery meetings and project discussions.
• Gather and document operational, technical, and business information.
• Document current state processes, workflows, and system interactions.
• Support the development of process maps and functional docs.
• Communicate professionally with stakeholders and project team members.
• Assist with user acceptance testing and deployment activities.
• Configure MI applications, dashboards, and data-collection solutions.
• Translate requirements into working components under guidance.
• Prepare implementation docs and test materials.
• Participate in deployment, upgrades, maintenance, and optimization.
