Job summary
IMEC Research is seeking a Digital Technologies Technical Specialist who will work with manufacturers to improve operational performance through digital and smart manufacturing technologies. The role involves assessing gaps, prioritizing digital solutions, and developing practical roadmaps for adopting IIoT, data analytics, ERP/MRP, MES, and automation.
This position requires home-office work and frequent travel across Illinois.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 3+ years in manufacturing ops, manufacturing engineering, or digital manufacturing tech.
- Experience implementing digital manufacturing tech such as IIoT, MES, ERP/MRP, robotics.
- Experience consulting with manufacturers and leading cross-functional improvement initiatives.
- Willingness to travel within Illinois; strong written and verbal communication.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct consultation on digital transformation strategies, IIoT, and data analytics to improve operations.
- Prepare proposals, deliver sales presentations, and support business development across Illinois.
- Manage project engagements: readiness assessments, gap analyses, and roadmaps.
- Develop roadmaps for implementing technologies like IoT, dashboards, and automation.
- Support ERP/MRP, MES, and automation deployments across client sites.
- Lead pilot implementations and coordinate with technology providers.
