Job summary

HITACHI ENERGY USA INC is seeking a Manufacturing HSE Specialist to strengthen health, safety, and environmental performance within our manufacturing operations. You will partner with cross-functional teams to promote a proactive safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and support continuous improvement initiatives that protect our people, facilities, and environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of HSE experience within a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Experience leading incident investigations and applying root cause analysis methodologies.
• Proven ability to deliver training, influence stakeholders, and communicate effectively across all levels of an organization.
• Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or other relevant HSE credentials are considered an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve health, safety, and environmental programs across manufacturing operations.
• Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and drive corrective actions.
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses to prevent recurrence and strengthen safety performance.
• Deliver engaging HSE training programs that build awareness, accountability, and safe work practices.
• Maintain HSE documentation, records, permits, and reports to support compliance and operational excellence.
• Partner with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to integrate HSE requirements into projects and process improvements.
• Monitor environmental performance, including waste management, emissions, chemical storage, and discharge activities.
• Support emergency preparedness initiatives, response planning, and drill execution to enhance site readiness.
