Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA INC is seeking a Factory Director Senior Leader to manage all aspects of the South Boston VA transformer plant, including production, quality, and logistics. The role leads staff, drives lean initiatives, and champions safety and ethics across operations.

You will oversee SIOP, staff development, and continuous improvement programs to optimize performance and working capital while aligning with enterprise goals and customer focus.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing management.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety standards.
• Proven ability to lead, engage, and inspire teams for high performance.
• Excellent English communication skills at all organizational levels.
• Strong problem-solving and complex situation management.
• Experience mentoring and developing team members with training programs.

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Factory Director Senior Leader to manage all aspects related to operations of the Distribution Transformer manufacturing plant in South Boston VA which includes the full scope of production, quality, operational excellence and logistics.

Key Tasks

• Manage overall manufacturing operations, including staff and the SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) process.
• Implement continuous improvement methodologies and lean principles to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
• Develop programs and metrics to optimize operational performance and working capital.
• Recruit, retain, and develop high‑performing teams while establishing a talent pipeline for future leaders.
• Ensure a strong customer focus and uphold high ethical standards in all operations.
• Provide a safe and healthy work environment, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with the ITM (Integrated Transformer Management System) team to integrate lean manufacturing principles into production processes.

Address challenges

• backfill key positions and provide training and mentoring to leaders.
• Tackle production hurdles due to machine issues, part shortages, or personnel shortages.
• Promote and embody Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity.

Requirements
