Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking an HSE Specialist to advance workplace health, safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence within a manufacturing environment. You will help strengthen safety culture, prevent serious incidents, and support continuous improvement across the organization.

You will lead risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Hitachi Energy's high standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of HSE experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working within cross-functional or matrixed organizations.

Responsibilities

• Lead risk assessments with a focus on serious incident prevention and operational safety.
• Support the continuous improvement of HSE management systems and safety culture initiatives.
• Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and drive effective corrective actions.
• Conduct audits, inspections, reporting, and performance analysis to improve HSE outcomes.
• Coach and mentor operations teams and HSE Technicians while supporting facility expansion projects.

Your Background

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM.
• Experience with Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles.
• Familiarity with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
• Confidence using digital tools and technology-driven management systems.
