Job summary

Sun Chemical Corporation in Northlake, Illinois, seeks an experienced Manufacturing HR Business Partner to serve as the primary HR partner for the site, driving employee engagement, labor relations, and talent development.

You will partner with operations leaders and union leadership to shape workforce strategies, manage grievances, recruit exempt and professional roles, and ensure compliance with employment laws.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR or related field.
• 3-5 years HR management experience.
• 2 years in a unionized manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• As the site HR leader, you will support employees and management while shaping workforce strategies and labor relations.
• Serve as the primary HR contact for the Northlake manufacturing facility.
• Partner with site leadership on workforce planning, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
• Lead employee and labor relations activities and liaison with union leadership.
• Provide guidance on employee relations matters, investigations, accommodations, corrective actions, and terminations.
• Support talent acquisition for exempt and professional roles.
• Manage day-to-day labor relations processes, including grievances, job bidding, and collective bargaining administration.
• Participate in labor contract negotiations and proposal development.
• Lead employee engagement, recognition, and development initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws, policies, and Affir-mative Action requirements.
• Represent Sun Chemical within the local community.
