Job summary

Innophos is seeking an experienced HR Manager to shape the employee experience across two Chicago-area manufacturing facilities. You will partner with plant leadership to drive engagement, labor relations initiatives, and a high-performing culture in a unionized environment.

You will balance strategic partnership with hands-on operational support, oversee HR operations, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and CBAs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 7+ years HR experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated labor relations including grievances, contract administration, arbitration prep, and bargaining.
• First-chair/lead negotiating experience with union contracts.
• Strong knowledge of US labor and employment laws.
• Experience managing high‑volume, full‑cycle talent acquisition.
• SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP/PHR/SPHR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in collective bargaining preparation and negotiations for CBAs across two Chicago facilities.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for labor union relationships, including grievance administration and arbitration prep.
• Build collaborative labor relations while ensuring alignment with CBAs and business objectives.
• Manage grievance and arbitration processes, including fact-finding and resolution.
• Provide guidance to site leadership on labor/employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
• Conduct objective fact-finding related to employee relations matters.
• Partner with site leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, and succession planning for critical roles.
• Coach managers on performance management, development, and disciplinary processes.
• Provide compensation guidance related to promotions, merit increases, and incentives.
• Interpret HR policies to ensure consistent application.
• Analyze HR metrics to identify opportunities and solutions.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers to attract qualified talent.
• Develop talent acquisition strategies to attract diverse candidate pools.
• Support workforce planning and labor management in partnership with Plant Management.
• Identify training needs and collaborate to address skill gaps.
• Support organizational effectiveness initiatives including succession planning.
