Job summary

Fender Musical Instruments Corporation in Corona, CA seeks a Director of Human Resources - Manufacturing to align people strategy with production and distribution realities, leading onsite HR teams and partnering with plant leadership in Corona and San Bernardino.

This role requires deep manufacturing HR expertise and executive presence to drive staffing, development, and operational transformation while ensuring safety, compliance, and high employee engagement.

Qualifications

  • 10-15 years of progressive HR management experience, including 5+ years as an HR leader in a manufacturing setting.
  • Deep, hands-on knowledge of manufacturing operations; experience supporting large sites.
  • Bachelor's Degree in HR Management, Business Administration, Organizational/Industrial Psychology, or related field.
  • PHR, SPHR, GPHR, or similar certification preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
  • Experience with high-volume employee relations in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Familiar with CA state employment laws and OSHA-related requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with a global, enterprise-wide HRIS program.
  • Experience with strategic interviewing methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a highly visible presence on the factory and distribution center floors, building trusted relationships across shifts and levels.
  • Serve as a trusted embedded strategic partner to site leadership, translating priorities into people strategies.
  • Lead the people side of operational transformation and remove barriers to change.
  • Own workforce planning and people readiness, forecasting headcount and skills for production needs.
  • Build a culture of accountability, performance, and engagement with clear expectations.
  • Strengthen frontline leadership capability through coaching and development.
  • Partner with Operations, Finance, Quality, and Continuous Improvement to improve workforce effectiveness.
  • Build talent and organizational capabilities for future needs, including succession planning.
  • Advocate for employees and the organization, addressing concerns proactively.
  • Provide HR governance and employee-relations leadership, including investigations and compliance.
