Rubbercraft in Long Beach, California seeks a Director of HR Business Partner to lead HR operations at the manufacturing facility and coordinate HR efforts at the Tempe site in Arizona. The role partners with site and business leadership to align people strategies with operational goals and strengthen employee engagement.

You will drive talent management, succession planning, and compliance with federal, state, and aerospace requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in HR leadership and Aerospace/defense industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with business and operational objectives.
• Serve as HR partner to site leadership on workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, employee relations, and talent management.
• Promote accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
• Lead organizational change initiatives to strengthen business performance.
• Develop training and career-growth programs for hourly and salaried employees.
• Identify critical talent, strengthen succession plans, and build internal pipelines.
• Support employee development, cross-training, and workforce capability initiatives.
• Coach leaders on performance management and career conversations.
• Develop initiatives to strengthen employee engagement, communication, recognition, and retention.
• Foster an inclusive, high-performing workplace.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local employment laws and aerospace requirements.
• Maintain knowledge of California employment law and ensure policy adherence.
• Support audits, reporting, investigations, and compliance activities.
• Support compensation practices, including job evaluations and salary reviews.
• Lead annual performance and merit review processes and partner on benefits programs.
• Leverage HR data and metrics to inform decisions and ensure accurate HR records.
