Job summary

Vaco by Highspring seeks an experienced Accounting Manager to build and scale the finance function for a Dallas-based manufacturing division. You will lead accounting, cost analysis, and reporting while partnering with operations to drive margins and efficiency.

The role requires 8+ years in manufacturing finance, strong GAAP knowledge, and leadership experience. CPA/CMA/MBA is preferred, with a path toward scalable internal controls and strategic cost management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA/CMA/MBA preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience in manufacturing.
• Strong GAAP and financial reporting knowledge.
• Experience with cost accounting, standard costing, and COGS analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead the division's accounting and financial reporting activities in accordance with GAAP and corporate requirements.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close, general ledger, reconciliations, accruals, fixed assets, inventory, and balance sheet integrity.
• Establish and improve accounting policies, internal controls, and reporting processes as the organization scales.
• Coordinate with corporate finance to ensure alignment with standards, deadlines, and compliance.
• Manage external audit support and maintain proper documentation and controls.
• Oversee manufacturing cost accounting, standard costing, inventory valuation, and cost variances.
• Analyze variances, material usage, labor efficiency, overhead, and margins to improve profitability.
• Partner with operations leadership to improve manufacturing visibility and drive performance.
